Premiere 6 Bug - and a Cure...

Unfortunately, a type of transition/wipe that I often use with Mini-DV, one with a
thin colored edge, causes the clips that are within the transition to lose resolution
in Premiere 6. This does not happen in Premiere 5.

Fortunately, the cure is simple. In the Premiere set-up dialogue boxes, select "square
pixels" instead of .9 rectangular pixels. The down sides: the preview window will
be in 720x480 proportion (NTSC) instead of 640x480 (4:3) proportion - and iris
transition round and square shapes will be squeezed sideways in the exported video,
as they are in Premiere 5...
